one day we decided to embarras the sister of someone in our
group. we were going to pick her up for dinner.. how could
we maximize the situation? we decided to dress in black -- from
head to toe. hair was slicked back, all our black clothes were
worn.. black backpacks, black umbrellas.. basically anything
black we had we took wtih us. we-- about 6 of us in all--
walked in a dark clump accross the courtyard to the women's
dorm to pick up the sister. and we escorted her all the way
back. it was a story that lingered for a few days in our dorm
and in hers. and she was embarassed as all hell.

one of the first poeple i met at purdue - branden, on the
left. branden introduced me to the wonderments of muds,
of beeper's pizza, and to life as a cs180 teaching assistant.

quickly instructed to pose, this is what i came up with.
a silly grin. anyways.. this was dorm life at purdue.
in the foreground is rob, a fellow computer science
student and part of our little group. rob and i started
offramp.org in his living room in speedway.

me in the branden's dorm room. the wooden frames you see in our
rooms are called lofts.. they're basically simple platforms
our beds rest atop of; that way you can use the floorspace
underneath the beds for couches or tv's or whatever.

branden and i went around the town of lafayette shooting pictures.
unfortunately, i don't have the negatives anymore.

me working on my room. the cool thing to do was buy a scrap of carpet
to lay on your room floor, otherwise the tile floors would be too
cold on your feet at night and during the winter. duct tape around
the edges held the carpet in place.

a "cat's eye view" of me in my dorm room. pictured are my gutted
pentium running linux and the sun 3/60 running sunos.
